There is power in hand-made ramie yarn.

How will the fabric woven with this yarn change depending on the thickness of the yarn?

Spinning yarn of various thicknesses uniformly, with a clear target in mind.

Thin yarns remain thin, and thick yarns remain thick.

Without dyeing, simply weaving in plain weave, using thin yarns and thick yarns.

Just that alone revealed completely different expressions.

To allow viewers to enjoy these differences in texture, the artist created "Puzzle" (Photos 7-10), a piece made from interchangeable panels, and "Pojagi" (Photos 11-14), a piece made by sewing together scraps of fabric.

For the background panels, blue ink was ground onto handmade Japanese paper and applied with a brush to highlight the texture of the ramie and the depth of the handmade yarn.
