Historical records of 19th-century weaponry reveal that ramie was also used as a raw material for bowstrings. Since ramie has been found in the form of angin (twined textiles) and cordage at prehistoric sites, it is possible that people of that time also used it for their bows.
To survive, we take sustenance from this world. We take the lives of animals as well. The tools we used were crafted from scratch, with materials gathered from the nature that surrounded us. At times it was wood, at times it was the body of an animal, and at other times, it was the fibers of a plant.
This is what I always place at the core of my workshops: The human wisdom that creates diverse things from the plants around us. The accumulation of skills developed to survive in a harsh world. The relationship between humans and the world that surrounds them. To reflect upon these things.
