WS Journal 14 From Earth to Cloth: Workshop with Karamushi 2606
This year has seen a lot of rain.
The weather forecast predicted rain, but it turned out to be sunny with a lovely breeze.
The ramie plants had grown rapidly, exceeding 2 meters in height.
Although it was a bit tough and required some force to pull, we were able to harvest plenty of strong fibers.
For lunch, we enjoyed our meal in the garden while listening to the birdsong.
The fascinating process of transforming familiar plants into fabric.
The realization that humans live by taking various things from this earth.
And the fact that we have arrived at our current state through trial and error in various methods of doing so.
As this was a solo workshop, it was limited to a very small number of participants,
but I am happy that I was able to share a wonderful time with the participants through ramie.
