WS Journal 2 Twisting ramie to make a bracelet
In the thread-making process I practice daily, I connect the ends of fibers by twisting them together.
When a twist in one direction is combined with a twist in the opposite direction, the fibers mysteriously interlock and do not come apart.
Rope-making follows the same principle, twisting fibers together to create a strong bond.
I thought a bracelet-sized project would be an easy way to experience this fascinating technique, so I took inspiration from the workshop by 淡々艸々 (Instagram: @93110tantansoso), a fellow ramie enthusiast.
